Perhaps he died later on.. although, i don't see why the scorpion would be alive either as he too was stung by the tarantula. Although, king baboon is quite aggressive, i believe the Indian Ornamental to be a superior predator because of its speed and agility. |

in the wild if these 2 animal had a fight the tarantula would win every time!!!!! as u can see right at thhe start the tarantula bit the scorpion...so if that was in the wild once the tarantula bit it it would go away and let the scorpion die!!!!!!! but coz it is in a little box it cant.. thats y it has to brawl with the scorpion and get stung and die at the end aswell. so yess the scorpions are goin to dominate most of the fights againsed tarantulas...but u must under stand that the tarantula would smash scorpions in the wild anyday!!! scorps would either get stuck in its web an the tarantula would bite it run bak in its home and w8 till the scorp dies or if they me in the open the tarantula would bite it and run will no battle scars!!! |

Sad. The fact that insects in these fights try to get away shows that they have fears and emotions like all other creatures. The Japanese are apparently the cruelist race on the planet. From massacres of Chinese during WWII to slaughter of whales and dolphins, elephants, bears, tigers etc. and insect fights now. Pure Bloodthirst. Wow! I just read this whole thread and it goes from discussions of the bug fights immediately into children arguing and calling each other names! First of all I breed 6 different species of scorpions, 2 different tarantula species, and several other arachnids/insects. In my experience scorpions and tarantulas are animals that would rather run from a fight and usually don't attack unless cornered or really hungry (in the case of a smaller prey animal). Because some of these scorps/spiders are aggressive to begin with the people putting on the fights are using the "cornered" method by sticking both animals in a small glass box in order to give them no choice but to fight because there is no room to back away from each other. If those who are putting on the fights were to give the arachnids more space or put them together in an environment with substrate and places to hide they would most likely avoid each other and hide until one of them got hungry enough to attack. In which case because some arachnids can go a while without food you would be waiting around for a long time before you were to see any action. As far as it being cruel to do this?... In higher classes of animals lengthy gestation periods and overall smaller populations can give rise to cruelty issues such as dog fights for example. In the case of insects/arachnids first of all they breed extremely fast compared to most animals and there populations are massive plus they are the worlds greatest survivors ! I mean a cockroach and a scorpion can and have bean documented as some of the few survivors of military nuclear test sites! No I don't think it is cruel because first off you're not just squishing it with your shoe your putting it with another species and if nothing else testing its capabilities as a hunter in a controlled environment to see an enactment of what might happen if both species had crossed paths in the wild and were both hungry! If people want to go around saying that bug fights are cruel then they should start with the fact that so many people step on bugs intentionaly all the time simply because they don't like them. Go tell everyone you see step on a bug or swat a flie that they are cruel first and if you haven't stepped on a bug yourself then you can say that bug fights are cruel ! |

The scorpion won because at the end the tarntula was infact dead. Whoever also said that a tarantula would kill a scorpion in the wild is also wrong unfortunety scorpions are built better for fighting other predators with their surperior exoskeletons and the stinger is far more moveable then fangs. Also tarantulas only spin web when in premolt or the do away with unwanted carcass. I own 3 different species of scorpions and 4 different tarantulas |

There is nothing cruel about this. While I agree that cruelty to mammals and other actual creatures is wrong, there is NOTHING wrong with killing insects. Insects are subpar rejects in this world. Why? Well, they do nothing for us except this which actually isn't even that great. Also, a FEW of them can produce commercial products. Other than those things, they have no value at all. You can say "Oh, they're one of our loving God's creations! They're beautiful in His eyes. We can't kill them." Maybe you aren't Catholic but if you're using that as your main reason for protecting them, let me ask you, what kind of bullshit reason is that? Why would God create them? They're an eyesore. They look disgusting. They spread disease to us. They're a pain in the ass because they mess up our houses. They land in our drinks. In fact, some of them commit suicide by jumping into our mouths while we sleep. Now, from a Catholic view, we're human so therefore we are "God's chosen people". All of the above hurt US and some of the above oppose's GOD's wishes so wouldn't it make sense that God wants us to kill the bugs? Reading the above, now ask, why am I opposing this? These stupid insects can kill each other as much as they want. "Oh, how would you like it if they put you in a cage with another human and forced you to fight?" Well, I'm going to say that humans are, in this day and age, smarter than bugs and these bugs will not be putting me in a cage anytime soon. For now, I'm going to keep squishing beetles in my basement, spraying bees at my pool, and crushing ants in my kitchen because these rejects deserve nothing less. |
